Da dachte ich: Hier ist der Mitschnitt des Kinofilms den es irgendwann auch einmal gab (ich hatte ihn anfangs der 80er Jahre gesehen und war auch begeistert). Aber bei dieser DVD erlebte ich eine große Enttäuschung. Mag sein, daß die unscharfen Bilder auf einem kleinen Fernseher mit entsprechend kleiner Lautsprecheranlage (für die miese Tonqualität) genügen, aber wer einen besseren Sound und ein besseres Bild will, sollte die Finger davon lassen. wer nur eine leise ahnung von dem hat, was sich damals ereignet hat, der solle sich dies anschauen...auch wenn eine band wie the doors dort mehr als fehlen (wegen unzüchtigen verhaltens von jimmy :D) muss man dies sich unbedingt zu gemüte führen...nie wurde dies gefühl von damals so authentisch rüberge acht...man fühlt sich quasi zurüchversetzt und wünscht sich die zeit zurück drehen zu können und in den staaten gelebt zu haben...muss man sehen, die augen schliessen und geniessen!!! Diese DVD ist eine der besten die ich jeh in meinem leben gesehnen habe! Woodstock ist einfach unglaubliche gute Musik Geschichte! Live sind das ganz geniale Konzerte mit überaschenden "unbekannten" Künstlern. Es fährt richtig ein. Die DVD Volume 2 hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen, Bild und Ton für diese Live-Mitschnitte einfach perfekt. Ein tolles Erlebnis für zu Hause als Erinnerung an die Live Konzerte. Bravo nur weiter so. Gruss von einem 50+ aus der Schweiz. Ich bin ein großer Fan von guter Musik bzw. ein Fan von Orchesterversionen. Night of the Proms ist genial. Die Lieder sind einzigartig und unglaublkich ergreifend. Ich muss ehrlich gestehen an ein, zwei Stellen kamen mir die Tränen vor Freude. Gänsehaut pur!! Ich kann Night of the Proms nur weiterempfehlen!!!! Die DVD kam, Karton auf und Heimkino an...mit einer riesigen Vorfreude. Es ist ein Genuß John Miles, Donna Summer ( dabei hatte ich einen Kloß im Hals) und allen anderen zuzuhören, im Vergleich zu der heutigen "Hupfdolenmusik". Aber die Entäuschung folgte...die Tonabmischung und Bildqualität entspricht nicht den gegenwärtigen technischen Stand. Ich war ständig dabei die Baßeinstellungen korrigieren zu müssen. Die tonale Auflösung ist ebenfalls mal Top, mal Flop. Teilweise schien mir, dass Bild und Ton nicht synchron sind. Im Vergleich zu anderen Konzertmitschnitten (wo pefekter Ton und Bild vorhanden sind)und gemessen an der Bedeutung dieses NOKIA-Events entspricht diese DVD technisch nicht dem heutigen Maßstab. Deshalb gebe ich auch nur 2 Sterne. (Weihnachten naht, und die DVD muß schnell noch auf den Markt.) Wenigstens bleibt man von der aufgezwungenen Surroundabmischung der ersten Nokia-DVD verschont. Aber die DTS-Tonspur gibt auch nicht vielmehr her als die 2-Kanaltonspur. Fazit: es könnte bedeutend besser sein, aber die Interpreten reißen Alles wieder raus. dass diese DVD nunmehr auch bei amazon erhältlich ist. Zu kritisieren gäbe es einiges, vor allem, dass dieses DVD wie auch Teil 1, nur ein Sampler von diversen Nokia- Nächten ist. Das wäre aber etwas kleinlich. Geboten wird für diesen Preis einiges. Die Auswahl ist sehr gut gelungen. Von Tony Henry hätte ich gerne ein anderes Stück gehabt, aber auch dieses Ausgewählte macht Spass. Bei einigen dieser Proms war ich Live dabei, und so ist das ganze auch eine tolle Erinnerung an schöne Abende. Meine persönlichen Highlight's : Mike Oldfield, Migde Ure und OMD. Aber seien Sie sich sicher, es ist für fast jeden etwas dabei. "Music" von John Miles ist hier ebenfalls in einer nur superb zu nennenden "Full-Version" vertreten, immer ein Höhepunkt der Show. Da kommt die neue Wacken DVD genau recht! Das ist mir positiv aufgefallen: Viele, Viele Bands! Besonders gut: Rose Tattoo, Type O Negative, Dimmu Borgir, Naziss, Volbeat, Immortal und viele viele mehr! Wacken 2007 Patch und Wacken Backstage Pass als Bonus! Sehr cool! Negativ ist mir aufgefallen: - Dokumentation ist wie fast jedes Jahr nicht schlecht aber auch nicht gut! Jedes Jahr die selben Fragen und auf Dauer eher langweilig! Der Unterhaltungsfaktor beim Moderator hält sich auch in Grenzen! Bobby Gerre müssten das mal übernehmen! :-) - Das Dimmu Borgir Lied : "Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse" wurde gegen Ende geschnitten! Keine Ahnung warum! Unterm Strich ist dieses Package aber nur zum Empfehlen! Ich hatte und habe meinen Spaß damit und freu mich auf die nächste DVD! Die Zusammenstellung auf diesen 3 DVD`s ist sehr gut, nur gibt es meiner Meinung nach zwei Punkte zu bemängeln. Die Tonqualität bei einigen Stücken läßt zu wünschen ü ig. Vielleicht wäre eine Ãœberarbeitung im Studio von Vorteil gewesen. Bei der zweiten Teil der zweiten DVD hört man im 5.1 Modus die Musik des ersten Teils. Gesanglich kommt eine Frauen- wie auch Männerstimme zum Zug. Gotan - la revancha - der Beginn des electrotango, zumindest in der Wahrnehmung der meisten Tänzer. Eine Empfehlung ist so überflüssig wie sinnlos, die Jungs sind genial, die Scheibe macht süchtig, man muss sie haben, spielen, tanzen... Das Genre Elektrotango existiert erst seit knapp fünf Jahren, doch hat es in dieser Zeit schon geniale Werke hervorge acht. Eines davon ist "La revancha del Tango" von den Franzosen Gotan Project. Even I have to agree to a certain extent. At the end of the book, you'll get the impression that Norman Rockwell, Leyendecker's competition, is nothing but vile. One reader even pointed out a knock-off painting that was mistaken as an original Leyendecker work. These are only two examples. In short, you should get this book for the art and not the text. Leyendecker's paintings is easily identifiable by the exaggerated, quick ushstroke effect, or crosshatched strokes with oil paint. The reason why I bought the book was to check out how he draws the folds on those clothes. His command of drawing clothes and drapery is masterly. His more iconic pieces would be the Arrow Collar Man, New Year babies, and the covers for Saturday Evening Post. Plenty of cover art he did for magazines are also included, although it's small at 9 per page. I thought the scans and reproduction of the paintings are pretty good. Yes, there might be yellow stains on those old copies of Saturday Evening Post but note that these paintings are from before the 1950s. The large illustrations are reproduced well, showing the texture of the medium. I like that his portraits are full of form and solidity, which I understand are drawn with models as reference. The included biography is controversial but I didn't really buy this book for the text. All said, it's still a very decent archive of Leyendecker's work. Paul Reiser is just awesome. He makes you laugh and laugh. I had a 4 hour layover at an airport and I read it all in one sitting. And everyone around me was wondering what was so funny and why I had a smile frozen on my face. Topics just hit you hard! And you can relate to every situation he talks about. Anyone can enjoy it but Parents really can get a hysterical laugh. You will honestly laugh out loud on every page. EVERY PAGE! I did and I have read it 3 time. Couplehood is great too! Don't hesitate...Buy them both today. You will NOT regret it. What's so wierd about this book is that you can relate it to anything in your life. I mean, who hasn't said to someone, "You're such a baby" or "Don't be such a baby." Babyhood really teaches you, in a down to earth way, people skills. I read it in a Learning Annex class on Communicating with Comedy and found it to be truly eye-opening. Someday I'll remember where I learned how to let it all go and just "be a big baby!" I could only give it three stars though because I deducted one because I would like more pictures and number two I would like a sequel! Reiser does it again--from his roles in movie's, such as, "Local Hero" to"Diner" to"Sudden Impact",to his literary endevers, he never stops to aim true and hit my funy bone! This time he aims at baby's and, boy, does he hit acomedy bullseye! I cracked "up"! They really are,like old men in wrinkly pink suits! Big type makes it easier to dig up all the comedy "nugget's" that paul has buried. My love affair with Paul Reiser's prose started with his debut, "Couplehood". I've recited his "What's for dinner, honey" bit from that gem at countless seminars. My colleagues love it! Well lucky for us Paul Reiser freaks, the laughs don't stop in the Large Print Edition of Babyhood. Once again, Paul Reiser delivers the comedic, heartfelt goods. Brutally honest, full of magical moments, and with a fine bold print that's not afraid to say "Look at me, I'm LARGE PRINT and proud of it."
